In July 2019, Tesla issued a new patent “Multi-directional body integrated forming casting machine and related casting method for automobile frame”, which proposed a frame integrated die-casting technology and related casting machine design.In 2020, Tesla will apply integrated die-casting technology to the rear floor assembly of the Model Y. Tesla integrates multiple body parts and forms them by die-casting at once.Integrated die-casting technology has many advantages such as lightweight, improving production efficiency, and saving production costs.At present, the industry is in a period of rapid development. In the future, it is expected to expand a number of large-scale parts, simplify the body structure, and promote the transformation of the body manufacturing process. The traditional automobile body is a sheet metal welded structure, and the manufacturing process is mainly divided into four major process links, such as stamping, welding, coating, and assembly.
